Marco represents clients in a wide range of business and commercial transactions, with a focus on commercial real estate, including acquisitions and sales, leasing, secured financing, land use and zoning matters and related litigation, as well as the prosecution and defense of mechanic’s lien foreclosures, adverse possession, partition, ejectment and commercial evictions, quiet title and other commercial disputes.
Marco has won approvals for various Transit Oriented Development projects for developers and has negotiated wireless transmission tower leases for both public and private clients.
He also represents businesses in corporate transactions and litigation and has years of experience as counsel in the title industry.
Marco’s work for Harris Beach Murtha’s Cannabis Industry Team includes negotiating leases, subleases, lease assignments and assumption agreements, as well counseling landlords and tenants on cannabis-specific considerations.
Marco provides a unique perspective, with a broad scope of experience in law, business and public policy. He previously worked as counsel to New York State Senator Jack Martins, now a partner at Harris Beach Murtha. In that role, he served as principal representative in the Senator’s office, authoring and collaborating on hundreds of bills, including more than 120 enacted into law by the New York State legislature. He coordinated work with committee chairpersons on legislation, hearings and task forces, and also worked on state policy, affecting minimum wage, paid family leave and non-legislative matters, such as aquifer protection.
