Jes focuses her practice on the litigation of complex tort, product liability and insurance coverage matters. She represents product manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, purchasers and property owners in claims for bodily injury, death or property damage; and advises carriers with respect to such actions.
Jes is a member of the Mass Torts and Industry-Wide Litigation, and Product Liability and Comprehensive General Liability practice groups, which are known for their proprietary approach to large case management and for excelling in cases where complex scientific and legal issues overlap. Jes’ pre-law experience in engineering and marketing are an asset when litigating cases that involve intricate technical specifications, industry standards and product advertising.
Prior to joining Harris Beach Murtha, Jes worked for an international law firm where she defended manufacturers, distributors, and contractors in asbestos litigation in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.
She also defended property owners and businesses in premises liability matters across several jurisdictions, and was involved in tracking global and national emerging risks in the insurance market, including the rise of social inflation and nuclear verdicts and greenwashing concerns.
Jes attended Albany Law School, where she acted as a teaching assistant for Torts, Property, and Constitutional Law, served as an editor for Albany Law’s Government Law Review, and participated in various internships, externships and clinics that allowed her to practice as a student civil litigator in both New York and Massachusetts.
