Chelsey implements, tracks and measures department workflow processes and collaborates with attorneys in order to improve efficiency and streamline work.
Chelsey works with the commercial real estate team on acquisitions, sales, leasebacks, easements and land conservation involving community banks, municipalities, U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD), schools and universities, hotels, car dealerships, private businesses, developers, utility companies, land trusts, hospitals, nursing home and long-term care facilities and nonprofits.
She drafts contracts, transfer, title and related documentation, and handles all aspects of the due diligence process, including the review, analysis and negotiation of title insurance, surveys, municipal searches, zoning compliance and reports, UCC filings, litigation and bankruptcy searches, corporate organizational and authority documentation, liability and property insurance, leases, tenant estoppel certificates, landlord waivers and notices, and subordination agreements.
In the financing area, Chelsey handles the initial drafting of all financing documentation and all aspects of the due diligence process. Her environmental paralegal work includes restriction filings in connection with U.S. EPA and Connecticut DEEP remediation activities, which include title review and analysis; preparation of property interest charts and subordination agreements; survey analysis; utility analysis; and preparation of applications for submittal, including assisting with response to comments, managing the filing process and coordination of all statutory requirements.
Prior to joining the firm, Chelsey was a paralegal at several other Connecticut law firms.
