Harris Beach Murtha’s former Chief Financial Officer Thomas Abbott, Partner Heather CM Rogers and Chief of Information Technology Samir Cortes are selected as The Daily Record and Rochester Business Journal 2026 Excellence in Law and Financial Leaders award honorees.

The awards pay tribute to the professionals whose leadership and service strengthen their firms, the legal and financial industries and the broader Rochester community.

Harris Beach Murtha 2026 Excellence in Law Honorees:

Heather CM Rogers, a partner in the firm’s Financial Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, is selected as an honoree in the Top Women in Law category. This award highlights her exceptional achievements as a female attorney who is making significant contributions to the legal profession and inspiring positive change within the community.

Samir Cortes, the firm’s Chief of Information Technology, is an honoree in the Law Firm Administrator category, which recognizes administrators who demonstrate excellence in supporting the success of their law firms.

Harris Beach Murtha 2026 Financial Leaders Honoree:

Thomas Abbot is recognized as an honoree in the Chief Financial Officer/VP of Finance category, which acknowledges exceptional financial professionals for their significant contributions to both their organizations and the Greater Rochester community over the past year. Tom concluded his tenure as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer at the end of 2025, retiring after a distinguished 28-year career with the firm.

The Excellence in Law and Financial Leaders award recipients will be honored at a celebration and profiled in the publications in June.
