It’s a busy couple of weeks for attorneys in our Rochester office for discussions of important issues facing the region and business community. Since mid-March, attorneys have contributed their experience and outlook at a variety of prominent events. And it’s not done yet, with two more presentations in the next two weeks. Here’s a rundown:

• Labor and Employment attorneys conducted a continuing legal education session on marijuana in the work place for the Women’s Bar Association of New York State on March 17.
• Labor and Employment Attorney Dan Palermo addressed legal implications of the New York State Wage Transparency Law, including compliance requirements and what employers can do to prepare before the law goes into effect, during an April 19 Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Chamber Counsel webinar. (Dan also spoke at a Rochester Business Journal webinar in February on non-compete clauses.)
• Commercial Real Estate attorneys joined a Rochester Business Journal panel discussion on the state of the real estate market in the greater Rochester region on April 20. The discussion focused on the need for affordable housing and the state’s evolving policy to support development.

• Labor and Employment Attorney Ibrahim Tariq will join a May 3 Rochester Chamber/Chamber Counsel Webinar on navigating the end of national and public COVID-19 health emergencies.
• Wills, Trusts and Estates Senior Counsel Lisa Powers will deliver an in-person seminar on May 9 with Lifespan on “The Pitfalls With Legal Eldercare Planning Online.” Lifespan provides services and information to older adults about the challenges they face. Registration is required and space is limited.
