Harris Beach Murtha Senior Counsel Mark F. Schuber is one of 40 recipients of Rochester Business Journal’s 2026 Forty Under 40 award.
The Rochester Business Journal has celebrated the Forty Under 40 awards since 1995, recognizing future leaders of Rochester. Each year, 40 outstanding young professionals join this exclusive group, selected by a panel of judges made up of prior year honorees. Candidates are evaluated on a combination of strong professional accomplishment and meaningful civic commitment to the Rochester community.
Mark, a member of Harris Beach Murtha’s Corporate Practice Group, represents investment banks, private equity and venture capital firms, not-for-profit entities and businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries.
He works on public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, venture capital transactions and other business combinations. His experience also includes small and large-scale contracts and other commercial negotiations, corporate governance matters, corporate restructuring, officer and director transition planning, regulatory compliance and other general corporate matters.
Mark chairs Harris Beach Murtha’s Community Involvement Committee, coordinating the firm’s support of several community organizations with “grassroots” programs. Members volunteer in a variety of community projects, typically participating in or organizing civic, community and cultural activities; providing pro bono legal services; and helping provide higher-level guidance by working with or sitting on boards of civic and charitable organizations. He’s also active in the firm’s pro bono work.
Mark has participated in fundraising drives and community events for various local entities, including the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester, Young Entrepreneurs Academy, United Way, and many others. He is an active supporter of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Rochester Chapter and has served as a judge for the organization’s annual Investor Panel Event at Golisano Institute. He’s also a board member of New York Photonics, a not-for-profit organization founded to promote the New York State optics, photonics, imaging and laser industry by fostering the cooperation of business, academia and government.
This year’s Forty Under 40 will be honored Nov. 17 at an awards celebration at The Strong National Museum of Play.
