Harris Beach Educational Institutions Industry Team co-leader Jeffrey Weiss recently covered how to best prepare for future disputes and due process hearings, as well as providing services to students with disabilities during COVID-19, in two articles in the publication Special Ed Connection.

In “Take These Steps Now to Prepare for Future Disputes, Due Process Hearings” Jeffrey talks about the importance of documenting all offers of services or efforts. “Everything you do or offer now will be helpful later,” he says.

In “Don’t Put Private Students’ Services Plans on Hold During Pandemic,” Jeff says he’s reluctant to tell districts to stop providing special education services to students attending private school just because they’ve stopped providing direct instruction to their general student population.
