(Nov. 6, 2026) — On the heels of the firm’s latest growth milestones, the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce has named Harris Beach Murtha one of the 10 fastest-growing privately owned companies in the nine-county Greater Rochester region.

The Chamber has honored its Top 100 fastest-growing businesses for 40 years. It is one of the largest celebrations of business and economic growth in the community, attracting more than 1,500 guests to the annual recognition event. This year’s special 40th anniversary celebration was held November 5 at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

“We’re honored to be included among so many outstanding organizations making an impact in the region,” said Chris Jagel, CEO of the firm. “This honor reflects the dedication of our team, the trust of our clients and our continued commitment to serving the communities where we live and work.”

The Top 100 rankings are calculated based on revenue, considering both dollar and percentage growth. To be eligible, companies must be privately owned, headquartered in Greater Rochester, and have earned at least $1 million in revenue in each of the three most recent fiscal years.

Businesses in this year’s Top 100 represent more than 24,000 employees and billions of dollars of economic impact. They come from different industries and sectors and are quite diverse in how long they’ve been in operation. Harris Beach Murtha was founded in Rochester 170 years ago this year.

In 2025, the firm combined with New England-based Murtha Cullina, and in late August of this year it added Consoli Bortolan Law Group, a premier Hartford-based commercial real estate boutique firm. On September 1, the firm completed its combination with Boston-based Peabody & Arnold, adding 40 attorneys and 25 professionals. Harris Beach Murtha now has nearly 350 attorneys across 19 offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey and New York. These combinations, along with a regular cadence of adding individual attorneys across a variety of practice areas and geographies, have fueled firm growth, and helped secure Harris Beach Murtha’s position on the Top 100 list.

The firm’s clients include Fortune 100 corporations, privately held companies, emerging businesses, tax-exempt organizations and individuals across 23 practice areas and 14 industry teams, including artificial intelligence, automotive, cannabis, construction and surety, education, energy, financial institutions and markets, food and beverage, health care, higher education, insurance (including Directors & Officers insurance), long-term care, manufacturing, medical and life sciences, gaming and hospitality, real estate development, retail, utilities and state and local governments and authorities.

“Our Rochester roots are deep and set the foundation for what has now become a regional firm with a broader geographical footprint and expanded practice capabilities,” Jagel said. “Growth is important to Harris Beach Murtha; we want to continuously augment our suite of legal services to meet our clients expanding and complex needs, while still providing individual attention and forward-thinking business advice. Our attorneys’ deep understanding of complex regulatory, governmental, political and cultural environments helps clients navigate regional, national and global legal challenges.”
