(Sept. 3, 2025) — Harris Beach Murtha’s Business Litigation Practice Group welcomes Rachel K. Marcoccia, an accomplished New York City attorney with more than two decades of complex commercial litigation experience.

Rachel advises financial industry clients, multinational corporations and a broad range of other companies and individuals in contract disputes and other business litigation before New York State courts and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country. In addition, Rachel handles disputes involving condominium and cooperative boards, building construction defects and other matters arising from the development, management, ownership and leasing of property.

Rachel is known for providing practical and effective advice in complex legal matters, and for her proficiency in executing sophisticated case management strategies in large-scale litigation. She also handles disputes with cross-border implications, and in so doing she has worked closely with law offices in London, Paris and Cologne, among other offices outside of the United States.

“Rachel has litigated on behalf of financial institutions, real estate developers, an aerospace and defense contractor and many more businesses and industries – working both nationally and internationally,” said Jennifer L. Morgan, co-leader of the Business Litigation Practice Group. “That experience is extremely valuable to a firm regularly adding multinational corporations and other business of all sizes to its roster and enhances what is already a strong litigation team.”

Harris Beach Murtha’s Business Litigation Practice Group litigators aggressively represent a variety of domestic and international entities, from Fortune 500 companies to individual and family businesses, including banks, construction companies, securities firms, realty companies, health care organizations, not-for-profits and many other corporations.

Rachel will also join the firm’s Government Compliance and Investigations Practice Group. In addition to her litigation experience, she has also represented prominent financial industry clients and others in high-stakes white-collar criminal defense and regulatory matters before federal and state law enforcement agencies.

Rachel also has extensive experience representing the City of New York and practices as a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel, on a pro bono basis, with the New York City Law Department, one of the largest public interest law departments in the United States. She has defended the City of New York in major litigation challenging the city’s policies and programs, including cases alleging violations of federal civil rights laws and New York State and New York City Human Rights laws.
