(Aug. 18, 2026) — Senior Counsel Sarah A. Besson, experienced in representing businesses and founders in middle-market mergers and acquisitions, is joining Harris Beach Murtha’s Corporate Practice Group and Albany office.

In addition to her significant M&A work, Sarah’s experience includes a wide range of general corporate, business and transactional matters. Sarah regularly handles commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation; general corporate governance and compliance issues; and advising emerging companies and their founders with respect to formation, stockholder and limited liability company agreements and capital raising transactions. She represents founders, businesses and entities at various stages and in a variety of industries.

Her prior experience also includes representing U.S.-listed domestic and foreign private issuers in public and private securities offerings (including equity and convertible and non-convertible debt), Securities Exchange Act of 1934 reporting requirements, corporate governance matters, Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange rules, and ongoing securities law compliance matters.

“Sarah’s entrepreneurial and strategic approach to working with her clients will help drive the practice group’s growth in the Capital District and support businesses of all sizes with complex corporate transactions and M&A work,” said Jeremy H. Speich, leader of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group. “She goes well beyond transaction‐specific advice, using a multi-disciplinary, problem-solving approach that takes into account the big picture for the business so she can deliver strategic counsel that helps meet critical business objectives.”

Harris Beach Murtha’s Corporate Practice Group continues to expand in numbers and services. Last month the group welcomed Senior Counsel Benjamin J. Evans, an attorney with more than 20 years of experience in employee benefits law.

The Corporate Practice Group features clients in a broad range of industries, including industrial and product manufacturing, construction, real estate development, health care, pharmaceuticals, financial services, food and beverage, energy, mining, cannabis, renewable energy, gaming, hospitality and blockchain/cryptocurrency.
